For my mom’s birthday, my aunts, mom and I decided to take a girls trip to Hochatown near Beavers Bend State Park in Oklahoma. It is just a two-hour drive for me, and it’s a great mountain getaway.
We’ve been several times in the past, and every time we come back there seems to be more options for travelers as far as entertainment.
As you can see, there are great restaurants, a wine shop, and several brew houses. My aunts arrived before I did, and they enjoyed the pizza at Grateful Head. We met up at the Beavers Bend Brewery for a flight of beers. It had two outdoor patios, one with hanging lights. We did not make it to Girls Gone Wine this time, but we have in the past. It has wine tasting and fun wine-themed gifts.
For lunch, one day we tried Brews and Blues, a Blues Brothers-themed restaurant known for its burgers. My aunts ordered the burgers, and I ordered the Chicken Sandwich. It was all very tasty with large helpings.
For outdoor recreation, there is zip-lining for the adventurous. There is a “Duck Boat” ride. There is fly-fishing, horse-back riding, canoeing/kayaking, and lots of hiking trails. There is a marina where you can rent boats, jet skis, and tubes. We enjoyed a 3-hour boat ride! Would highly recommend this! We even enjoyed jumping in the beautiful lake for a swim.
At night, we cooked at home or had a chartcuterie tray.
My aunt made shrimp and crabmeat au gratin with garlic bread and salad! Yum!
I brought some of my fave cheeses and crackers for a light dinner.
Our cabin was great! It had a hot tub, three fireplaces, several big-screen televisions, and a nice kitchen with island. It slept 10-14 people. Check out our cabin here!
All-in-all we had lots of great laughs, stories and times together! I am looking forward to our next jaunt together!
