Life Lately At the LL

fullsizeoutput_1bc7.jpegJust wanted to keep ya’ll informed with a few updates on all things pertaining to life lately.  More good than not.  Trying to keep that cup half full, ya know?

First, for the bad news…. I like to get that out of the way first, so we can focus on the good.IMG_2004.JPGIMG_2005.JPG

Rourke broke his toe!  It happened about a month ago but he just now has gotten an x-ray and is now in a “bootie.”  It happened after he vacuumed the bedroom (he’s always good about helping around the house).  He always moves furniture around and vacuums underneath, because he is so thorough.  But, he forgot to move a chair back just right in our bedroom, and ran into it in the middle of the night.  I can’t believe he’s gone this long!  No more gym for him for 3 weeks!

Okay for the good news….

Hayley got a dog!  You know we lost our dog of 13 years this summer, and I am not ready to get another just yet.  So, I can’t wait to get my dog fix at Thanksgiving when she brings him home.  His name is Pope, and he’s a French bulldog.  He’s so adorable!!IMG_6467.JPG

Okay, for my fall planter box….here’s how it is doing.  Notice the Swiss chard I’ve swiped for my smoothies in the morning. The cyclamen is about to bloom and be even more beautiful.IMG_1324Before..

My lashes!  I don’t know if you saw the post on lashes, but you can view Luxe Lashes here.  I had to stop using the lash product, because my lashes were curling backward and touching my eyes.  Now I just apply once a week to maintain.  I have people ask me all the time if they are fake.  Nope! (Excuse the bad hair day I am having. Just focus on the lashes!;))IMG_2002.JPGIMG_2003.JPG

Speaking of my hair!  It’s been 2 weeks since I began the Kristin Ess hair product line (see here).  I have noticed my hair thickening and strengthening.  I use shampoo less because of the awesome dry shampoo, so I am hoping my hair color lasts longer, too.

I tried butternut squash fettuccine noodles….I found them at Whole Foods and used the recipe on the back, omitting the mushrooms, because you-know-who won’t eat them.  And, I am not a fan of tempeh or tofu.  I substituted low-fat ricotta and mozzarella cheese for protein. Hayley’s bedroom at our house….after several years, I have finally finished making it a true guest bedroom.  Post to come soon, but here’s a sneak peek!fullsizeoutput_1bc6.jpeg

And, Erin has a girlfriend.  We have not met her yet, but hope to in December on a trip to DFW.  Hayley has met her and approves! Deets to come.

And on eating, I have been researching the The Ayurvedic Diet.  This is not actually a diet but more of a lifestyle that coincides with yoga. ( I have never been a fan of diets but more of a believer of a healthy lifestyle the majority of the time.) You figure out what Dosha you are, and try to avoid certain foods, while adding other foods to your diet.  I am pretty sure I am a Vata Dosha and have been trying to eat more of these pro-Vata foods an less of the anti-Vata.  Find what Dosha you are here!

We’ve been watching some great flicks with drinks for our Lavish Libations Series in between all of these exciting baseball and football games.  See other LLS here and here. I can’t wait to share!

As of last Wednesday, I have posted over 100 posts already.  I can’t believe it!  Oh, and ya’ll should have told me. I am sooooo embarrassed….. I have been spelling Bon Appetit wrong all this time!  I tried to go back and fix it!  I guess spell check doesn’t work on French?

I hope your cup of life is more than half full right now……I am grateful mine is!!
