Merry Christmas From Our House To Yours

Merry Christmas, ya’ll!

Reflecting on our past year as a family, we went through many life changes.  As I look at last year’s picture at Christmas above, I think “wow!”  We really are at a totally different stage in our lives.

Last December, we were moving Erin to Dallas for him to start his adult life with a great job opportunity.

Hayley was in her last semester of her college life, with a trip to Paris with her classmates planned in February.  She did graduate in May with a job opportunity to follow shortly after.  We moved her to Dallas in August.

We lost our family dog of fourteen years in June. I think about her every day, but her quality of life was poor.  She is in a better place now, of course.

Rourke started a new career path on December 18 just recently.  He is excited about this new journey in his life.

And me, I am on my 24th year of teaching, mainly preschool.  And, of course, as you know, I started a blog in June.

I was at a time where I no longer had to race to dance competitions, soccer games, football games, etc.  I no longer had to care for an elderly lab.  I was at a point where… I need something more to do.

Hayley and my friend, Rachel, turned me onto blogs a few years ago.  Hayley actually had a blog and interned at several others.  I loved reading them and seeing what all these people were doing, wearing, making and cooking.  I thought, “I could do this!”

So I prayed and prayed about it. I kept doubting and questioning my decision.  I asked Rourke for his blessing.  And, he was my biggest cheerleader and told me to go for it!

And guess what? I LOVE IT!  It has definitely been a learning curve for me.  All this technology!!!!

But, I have had the most fun with it, and I can’t thank you as readers for all of your support.  Your positive comments make my heart burst with joy.  So, hopefully, I can continue my journey with you, taking everything one day at a time.

I am praying blessings on you, your family this holiday season and the upcoming new year!  I would appreciate prayers for our family’s, too!

“Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end.  He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever.  The zeal of the LORD almighty will accomplish this.”  Isaiah 9:7

Merry Christmas!
