I have thoughts going through my brain constantly. Sometimes, I feel like I am inside a tv and someones always changing my channels. :o. Is it just me??????
Well, after several failed attempts of keeping all of these ideas, lists, thoughts all in my head alone, I have found several techniques in reigning in these thoughts. I thought I would share with you.
(Okay, I guess you noticed….I joined Planet of the Readers recently. Not only am I already legally blind with farsightedness and an astigmatism, but now I am nearsighted, too. What’s next? BI-FOCALS!!!!???? Hopefully, Gucci makes a stylish pair!;))
First of all, I am a paper and pencil girl. I can’t type those little letters on my phone fast enough, much less see them!! So, I can’t live without my planner. I take it everywhere.
I like this one. It has an overview of the month on one page, and then day-by-day pages. I write doctor’s appointments, parties, birthdays, field trips, etc., on the overview. And, I write what I plan to do on the individual days. I ALWAYS use a pencil for those changes that always come up. And, I cross off each day after it happens. It gives me a clearer picture. In the back, I take notes. If I find an Etsy shop I like, I will write it down, because I WILL forget! If we have a good bottle of wine, I will jot this down. I list blogs that I find that I like and have them organized by cooking, fashion, home decor, etc. I also list any brands that I like. I have found this brand of lists off of Amazon. I LOVE THEM! One is a weekly list to things to do. One is a weekly meal layout. And the other is an itemized grocery list in order of departments.
I love that they are magnetic, so when I am in the kitchen and am out of something, I can add it to the grocery list!
So, I fill these out weekly to help me organize my thoughts on groceries, meals, and to-dos.
*This brand also has a packing list here for big trips. I am definitely going to get these for our summer beach trip!
Whenever I am at Marshall’s or T.J. Maxx, I will pick up these little notebooks. I keep these in my purse for when ideas will pop into my head….whether it’s a recipe, teaching idea, craft, or blog post.
So there you have it! How do you organize your thoughts?
