Back in the spring of ’17, Rourke and I took a trip to Playa del Carmen. It was our first all-inclusive experience. You could order room service 24/7! Well, taking advantage of this, we ordered a HUGE breakfast that first morning. When they were taking our order, they asked what kind of juice I would like. I asked the choices. They were orange, grapefruit, cranberry, tomato, and GREEN juice. Green juice? Okay, I’ll try it. Well….. IT was so refreshing and delicious!
So when we were indulging in the breakfast buffet another morning, I had my second glass of this yummy concoction and vowed to try to imitate it when I got home!
Now, if you do not own a juicer and are in the market for one, this gives the best reviews. Also, there is a controversy on the health benefits here. But, I love mine. It’s nice to have fresh-squeezed orange juice in my mimosa. Or, my own “V8” not out of a can!
So for the “Green Juice:”
The beauty of the juicer is that you don’t have to peel your vegetables and fruits, except citrus you do.
I used one cucumber, 2 stalks of celery, 1 cup purple grapes, one apple, one peeled orange, 1 tsp. fresh ginger, and 1 tsp. of lemon juice.
You just push the fruits and veggies through using the tamper. Stir in the lemon juice at the end!
*A little trick my friend Carol taught me for storing celery to last longer….Wash your celery and wrap in paper towels.Place on a long sheet of aluminum foil and wrap up again.Place in the veggie bin in your refrigerator!
