I am a firm believer in exfoliating daily. Not only does it take off the dead layer of skin, but also keeps pores clear and prevents ingrown hairs. It improves blood circulation and gives you a healthy glow. It also aids in helping products to efficiently penetrate skin and do their job properly.
On my face, I use a finer exfoliant every other day and a milder one in between.
On my body, I like different products for different purposes.
All of these work more effectively on dry skin, avoiding the eyes. If too abrasive for you, wet skin first. After desired results, rinse and rub off with warm water. I usually add a little warm water, continuing to exfoliate. I add a little at a time until I get all of the exfoliant off. This Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion is one of the best exfoliants I have ever used. I gave a friend my Clarisonic, replacing this product with it. It has very fine granules that really get the job done.I use a milder product like this one on in between days. This products leaves an awakening, tingling after-effect.I like this product for an everyday face and/or body scrub. My BFF gave it to me for a gift one year, and I have been a repeat consumer on this one!I love this Aveda Rosemary Mint Body Polish to wake my skin up in the a.m. It also leaves a tingly residue. For a more luxurious scrub, I use this scrub from African Botanics for an every-now-and-then full-body exfoliation. You will feel like you are eating a Girl Scout Thin Mint cookie without the calories. Erin indulged me with this for Mother’s Day and has been a favorite.
Do you exfoliate? If so, what are your favorite products?
