Blini Bar

How about a Blini Bar for your New Year’s celebration?  It is a great appetizer station for your guests to mix and match flavors. Everything is pre-made and/or store bought.

Here I made blinis (or you can buy them pre-made at your local grocer).  I just heated them in the oven at 200 degrees before guests arrived and set out several flavors to top them with.

You can do sweet and savory like I have done here. fullsizeoutput_38cb.jpegFor savory, I put out gravlax (or smoked salmon), cream cheese/dill, and capers/chopped red onion.fullsizeoutput_38d1 IMG_1772.JPG

Another savory option I have here is creme fraiche, caviar, and chives.fullsizeoutput_38cffullsizeoutput_38ce.jpegIMG_1780.JPGAnd, for a sweet option, I have whole milk ricotta with orange zest and thyme, raw honey and roasted pumpkin seeds.fullsizeoutput_38d0.jpegfullsizeoutput_38d4.jpegFor the blini recipe, I used this one, omitting 1/3 salt and substituting brown rice flour for flour to make it gluten-free.

What do you have planned for New Year’s Eve this year?  Would love to hear!!

Toodle-oo,

Melanie
