Will you be watching the opening season of The Bachelor or the College Football Championship on Monday night?

Well, here in our household, we will be watching The Bachelor.

Rourke is getting the heck out of dodge for work, I think, so he won’t have to be subjected.  And, possibly to watch the football game uninterrupted…. He isn’t here for the right reasons.

So, we had to come up with a fun cocktail for the first episode of The Bachelor, and boy, did we hit the one-on-one date!!!

Stay tuned!!!We are calling it “The First Impression Rose!”

fullsizeoutput_395d.jpegfullsizeoutput_395a.jpegWe are using gin, rose syrup, rose cordial, bitters, grenadine and lime.fullsizeoutput_3953.jpegfullsizeoutput_3967.jpegFor garnish, we are using bourbon-soaked cherries….IMG_1785.JPGIn a dry shaker, mix:

1 1/2 ounces of gin

1 ounce of rose cordial

1/2 ounce of rose syrup

1/2 ounce of grenadine

1/2 fresh squeezed lime juice

a few drops of Angostura bitters

Strain into a pretty glass and top off with crushed ice.  Plop a cherry in and you’ve made a connection!  You’ve got “The First Impression Rose” and you’re not going home!!!

(It honestly tastes like an adult slushy!)

fullsizeoutput_3954.jpegFor the crushed ice, just put ice in your blender and blend until finely crushed.fullsizeoutput_3955.jpegGrab you some vittles and enjoy!fullsizeoutput_3965.jpegfullsizeoutput_3966.jpegA few notes on The Bachelor…..img_1812IMG_1811.JPG

This will be The Bachelor’s 23rd season, starring Colton Underwood.  It will be a three-hour, live episode.  It starts with 30 bachelorettes.  And there is an actual Bachelor Fantasy League you can subscribe to with prizes!!

And, check out, 21 Things ABC Doesn’t Want You to Know About The Bachelor!

Whether you are watching football or The Bachelor, join us to the rose ceremony in imbibing with “The First Impression Rose!”  It might be the most dramatic drink in Bachelor History!!!

Cheers!

Toodle-oo,

Melanie
