Hayley found this photo location by chance. When she found it, she called me. We both agreed we just couldn’t resist a good Halloween post from here.
It’s the oldest cemetery in Shreveport called Oakland Cemetery dating back to 1842. It is listed in the National Register of Historical Places. It is downtown right next to the Municipal Auditorium where many celebrities, including Elvis, have performed. The cemetery was also the backdrop for the movie, Mr. Brooks, starring Kevin Costner. It is the burial site for Confederate soldiers and at least 16 Shreveport mayors.
It has some really old tombstones and lots of iron work that is really worth the trip down to see.
For my outfit, I pulled together an orange and black sweater with a denim skirt, black heels and some accessories. It has finally begun to feel like fall, and I am able to wear a sweater or two.
What are your plans for Halloween? Lots of tricks and treats?
