I have officially gone full-on gluten-free and need my king cake fix, ya’ll! Everywhere I turn there is a yummy king cake right there in front of me. It’s killing me!
What’s a girl to do? Well, turn to ice cream of course and make a king-cake inspired frozen drink instead!
Here I present “The Mardi Gras Mambo!” It has vanilla and pecan pralines n’ cream flavored ice cream, iced cake vodka, fireball (cinnamon-flavored whiskey) and ice.
Get out your blenders, cue The Funky Meters, and sugar-rim your glasses. Friends, it’s officially CARNIVAL TIME!
To a blender, add 1/2 ounce Fireball and 1 1/2 ounces Iced Cake vodka.Add a healthy scoop of vanilla…
And a healthy scoop of Pecan Pralines ‘n Cream.Add approximately 1 cup of ice. Blend well and serve in a Mardi Gras themed glass or….Get out your martini glass and rim your glass with simple syrup and dip in yellow, purple and green sugars.Pour in this yummy concoction and enjoy some bead catching or just chill on your float this Mardi Gras season.
(makes 1 drink)
1 1/2 ounce Smirnoff Iced Cake Vodka
1/2 ounce Fireball
1 healthy scoop of vanilla ice cream (I prefer Bluebell brand. )
1 healthy scoop of Pecan Pralines ‘N Cream ice cream (Ditto from above.)
1 cup of ice
Put everything in a blender and mix well. Serve immediately or place in freezer for future use.
